If this seems familiar, it’s because I messed up the first upload and am trying again.
- The hydrangeas just keep getting bigger. I need to figure out how to stack them next year, because when it rains the flowers get so heavy that they break the stalks. They’re so big that the bees burrow into them, coming out minutes later.
- I wish these weren’t weeds, because they grow so very well in our yard.
- The clematis are generating many flowers this year, but not as many stems and leaves as usual. I hope I didn’t prune them back too aggresively.
- Lots of white/pink clematis this year
- Fuscia.
- Butterfly and honeybee working the lavender. It smells wonderful.
- Honeybee on the lavender
- Pink asiatic lilies, from two weeks ago. All gone now…
- Hens and chicks.
- Clematis climbing the lamppost. I like the way this looks.
- Orange asiatic lilies.
- Bashful morning glory.
- Closeup of the purple clematis
- Bumblebee on the lavender. The lavender plant is never lonely.
- The hostas are in full bloom
- More fuscia. I think it’s having trouble with getting too much light and humidity, but it’s still trying.
- Some unknown flower from the butterfly garden
- Not sure exactly wht these are–some kind of lily, obviously, but hard to classify.
- First of the day lilies… but not the last.
- The butterfly garden
- A newer glory.
- The white glories are making a strong showing this year.
- The hydrangeas and glories are fighting it out in this corner
- Another view of the hostas
- The day lilies are blooming like fireworks. I hope they pace themselves–they’re all that’s left to bloom in the front yard until next year.
- Closeup of a single day lily
- I forgot how many photos of clematis I already uploaded. Sorry.
- I salvaged some seed pods from the lilies last year, and planted some of the seeds in a pot this spring. These are coming along nicely, I think. At least they’re green. I just wish I’d labeled them with what kind of lily they are.
- The butterfly garden looks better in real life than in these photos. The camera can’t quite capture the intensity of the colors.
- One of the few remaining gladioli in the wake of the giant crane episode. The stem is starting to segment; these will all each open to reveal a small flower. I think it looks pretty cool already.
- The lattice trellis I built for all these flowers to climb on. They seem to appreciate it.

Danny,
These photos of your flowers are making me drool: such a variety! and they all look so healthy.
Kudos to you!! This riotous carnival of colour and life can only be the result of genuine tender loving care. You can’t fake gardening 🙂
