I hope we get a good number of our old crew back!  Happy!!!! Smiley

I hope it's more than just the two of us.

When this site was active, some of the users left in a huff because I screwed up the karma settings and didn't feel like fixing them.

I thought it would be polite to mention that they're still screwed up, and I still don't feel like fixing them.  I don't think it's important; and technically it's not screwed up.

I will explain.

Karma is used to control exactly one thing on this site: the number of stars next to your name when you post something.  That's it.  It's not something you should worry about, unless stars have some deeply personal meaning to you.

The number of stars it prints, and what color they are, are all related to the number of postings that you've made, and how well they've been liked, and things of that ilk, but it's not easy to decipher how this relationship works.  Newbies often have more stars than people who have posted a lot, for example.  My advice is to consider it meaningless.

Nevertheless, someone was so upset by this that he quit and formed his own site.  I bet it has an awesome karma system.

0. Can you fill this out without lying?
We'll see

1. What was the last thing you put in your mouth?
Water or a ciggy

2. Where was your profile picture taken?
over the front yard

3. Can you play Guitar Hero?
of course I CAN. A more appropriate question would be, "SHOULD you play Guitar Hero?"

4. Name someone who made you laugh today?
just one? Small child at Dr.s office whose name I never learned

5. How late did you stay up last night and why?
2 or 3 a.m., because I could not sleep

6. If you could move somewhere else would you?
hmmm...since I am a grown person, not incarcerated or on probation I CAN move anywhere I want. I don't, so I must like it here

7. Name one thing you love about your body!
ummm...well...parts of it still work...

8. Which of your friends lives closest to you?
That would be Shelly or Kathy depending on whether or not it is 'snowbird season'

9. Do you believe ex's can be friends?
I hope all my ex's are friends...with each other.

10. How do you feel about Dr Pepper?
never met him...doesn't he have that lonely hearts place?

11. If you could do any job in the world what would it be?

12. Who took your profile picture?

13. Who was the last person you took a picture of?

14. Was yesterday better than today?
I guess

15. Can you live a day without TV?
probably. Why am I doing this? Is there a prize?

16. Are you upset about anything?

17. Do you think relationships are ever really worth it?
sometimes. The ones with my grandkids are pretty good

18. Are you a bad influence?
Who? ME?!?!?! (gives halo a quick polish before settling it onto horns)

19. Night out or night in?
obviously I am in

20. What items could you not go without during the day?
again, WHY am I doing without? Is there a reward?

21. Who was the last person you visited in the hospital?
friend who had heart surgery

22. What does the last text message in your inbox say?
"I am   thanks"

23. How do you feel about your life right now?
how does it feel about me?

24. Do you hate anyone right now?
I expect there's a list somewhere...or maybe thats the "Better Off Dead" list...

25.Do you like your wedding ring or do you secretly wish it was different?
it is lovely. Invisible, but lovely.

26. Say you were given a drug test right now, would you pass?
Nope. I have a fondness for poppy seed bagels. And allergy meds containing ephenedrine. (that might be a lie--or maybe this is)

27. Would you ever get some plastic surgery?
depends. Who's paying for it?

29. Brazilian wax?
I prefer Armenian wax

30. Have you ever skinny dipped?
anymore I chunky dunk

31. Name something you have to do tomorrow?
go back to the flipping Dr's office to retrieve all my meds, which I left there today in a fit of idiocy

32. Do you think too much or too little?
depends on who you ask

33. Do you smile a lot?
Yep. I laugh out loud a lot too.

But then again, the suckage at facebook knows no bound, and therefore maybe people will return.

It's a good thing that I didn't call it a grand re-opening, because it wasn't.

OK. You work on the language.  I'll work on the wardrobes and paraphernalia.  That stuff's pretty cool in any religion, and I think I can go ahead get started on that while Pru is working out the deep stuff.  Once she figures out the answer to life, the universe and everything, I can tweak the costumes and gear to fit.

I'm not going to call it a grand reopening until more people trickle in...

I have re-enabled registration, which will allow new users to join if they wish.  I have made an important change to the registration process, however: it now requires approval to join.  This is not to prevent any specific person to join, but instead to keep the spammers out.  The spammers have written software that automatically spams sites using this forum software; my previous site, which I set up for a charity, had several hundred spam accounts within a week of opening registration...  I don't need want that sort of crap here.  Requiring approval defeats most of the casual or less sophisticated spammers, and the rest of them will get banned after their first offense.  In the meanwhile I'll approve everyone who isn't on the list-of-known-internet-doucebags provided by my friends at flailing-tentacles, at least as often as I think of it.

If there was no written history of the Bible, do you think you would still believe in the existence of a God?  If not, do you think you would create one?

If there was no written history of the Bible, that would probably be because there wasn't any written language, because things of that relevance would otherwise be written down.  So I'd probably be working on inventing written language.  That's the sort of thing I like to think about.  I'm not really good at the deep stuff like whether God exists because I believe in him or vice versa.  I'm more of a nuts and bolts inventor/innovator.

Um.  Is this a religious discussion?  Your question is too ambiguous for me.  I won't attempt to answer.  I have plenty of thoughts but they are all sort of philosophical and not really personal.
I'll side-step the religion issue for now, because it is too easy to be misunderstood in a short written message - especially when I would probably be answering a question that was not asked, and wander off on a tangent.  I was going to ask you if it would be OK if I 'friended' (stupid verb) Chriss Cee on facebook.  I think it would be the first time I actually initiated a friend request.  But if she's an actual, real life friend of yours, then I'm interested in making the connection.  Then I noticed she is already a 'friend'!  When did that happen?  Probably long ago when I was saying yes to anyone who seemed to have a TBD connection when there was the Great Migration.
I still think facebook is stupid.
But I hope you are well and happy.
